Donovan Jamal McNabb (born November 25, 1976 in Chicago is an American Football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He attended Syracuse University in 2004 he led the Eagles to an NFC Championship and earned honors as the League’s Offensive Player of the Year.
McNabb at first was strongly considering going to the University of Nebraska he enjoyed the idea of being coached by the legendary Tom Osborne. However McNabb decided not to attend Nebraska mainly because he did not want to be labeled an option quarterback. He then decided to attend Syracuse University.

One of the most decorated athletes in Syracuse University history he was a four year starter at quarterback and a reserve on the school’s nationally ranked basketball team. On the gridiron he was named the Big East Conference offensive player of the decade1990s and of the year an unprecedented three times from 1996-98 as well as the first team all conference vote earned in each of his four seasons. Later he was named to the Syracuse All Century Football team. McNabb also played basketball playing as a key reserve in the Orangemen’s Final Four team back in 1996, where they lost to the Kentucky Wildcats in the championship game. One of the stars of the Kentucky team was Antoine Walker who had been a teammate of McNabb at Mount Carmel.
During McNabb lengthy tenure as the Eagles quarterback he has not led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory. Hower, he is one of only four quarterbacks in the history of the NFL to lead his team to four consecutive Conference Championship Games. The other three are Jim Kelly, Troy Aikman , and Kenny Stabler.

McNabb has been widely praised for his ability to stay cool under pressure. It is often said by fans team mates and football pundits that when McNabb plays with a smile on his face he is at his best. However, when losing he often sulks on the bench with a towel over his head isolating himself from teammates and coaches.

Notably he threw for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns after breaking his ankle against Arizona Cardinals. Additionally McNabb played 10 games in 2005 with a bruise sternum and a sports hernia.
